Jim's Bio

I was born and brought up in Glasgow, Scotland where, after leaving high school and with my hopes of a soccer career fading quickly, I served a 5 year apprenticeship as an Optical Instrument Maker prior to studying for a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering at Strathclyde University.
I have lived in and around Georgetown and Brampton for more than 40 years and I have seen the area significantly grow and develop. My family have attended local schools and participated in recreation activities from ice hockey and soccer to amateur theatre.
Before getting involved in Real Estate, I worked for many years in marketing, negotiating and business development worldwide with companies such as Litton Systems and Alcatel.
I am a Broker member of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board and I joined RE/MAX because of its commanding market share and the extensive support provided to its Buyer and Seller clients.
My hobbies include reading (mainly history), fitness, web site & social media development and home renovations.

This is just a quick note of thanks for being our Listing Agent for the sale of our home. We very much appreciated your honesty and suggestions during the listing period, and especially during the sale negotiations. Both of us were extremely impressed with your negotiation skills on our behalf - your imaginative alternatives to the agreement, your unemotional detachment when it would have been so easy for us to become too emotional and make a quick decision, for "bringing us down to earth" when our emotions were running high by fully explaining the impact of some of our initial decisions, and for staying with us throughout the whole negotiation periods - once until 1 :00 a.m. and another time until 3 :30 a.m.
It goes without saying that we would (and will) highly recommend you to any of our family or friends who plan on selling and/or buying a house.
We expected that selling and/or buying a home can cause a great deal of tension and anxiety. If it wasn't for Jim, the experience could have turned out very disheartening. Jim was ever willing to listen to our problems and queries and would do so any time of day. He was always prompt in returning our calls and extended plenty of support and help. He didn't think twice about going that extra step to assist us.
Jim continually kept us appraised of what was happening and we never had to chase after him to get things done. Being an honest and caring individual, Jim would express his opinions without imposing them on us. He was cheerful and humorous to speak with and yet maintained his professionalism. We are grateful for meeting Jim and having the pleasure to work with him.
